Dr. Ekram Hossain is a Professor and Associate Head of Graduate Studies in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (FACE), and a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (FEIC). Also, he is a Member of the College of the Royal Society of Canada (Class of 2016). He was listed as a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in Computer Science from 2017-2024 and won the IEEE Canada J.M. Ham Outstanding Engineering Educator Silver Medal Award. Also, he received the 2023 E. F. Glass Western Canada Merit Award "for outstanding service to IEEE Canada, the members, and the profession." He won several research awards including the "2017 ComSoc Best Survey Paper Award" and the "2011 ComSoc Fred Ellersick Prize Paper Award". He was the recipient of 2017 IEEE ComSoc TCGCC (Technical Committee on Green Communications and Computing) Distinguished Technical Achievement Recognition Award.
